Drawnalism at Hello Digital 2009
Drawnalism.com reported Birmingham’s Hello Digital event on October 21st. During a packed day of feature and fringe events at Millennium Point in the centre of the city we produced more than 50 instant digital drawings of the day’s exhibitors, formal speakers and active participants.
You can see all of the results at our instant galleries- or watch one of the short slideshows. Alongside our visual reportage, Rhubarb Radio covered the whole event with great audio - and photographer Karen Strunks took care of the day’s photographic needs.
You can catch up on the event's key speakers and panel members at the Hello Digital blog including Lucy Hooberman (above) of the University of Warwick’s Centre for Digital Innovation. We'd recommend all of the sessions but if you are short of time, don't miss Wiredmagazine Editor, David Rowan in his end-of-day keynote address.
Alternatively, you can follow the archived Twitter stream with the thoughts of the day's (very active) participants. Brum blogger Jon Bounds did wonders to gather them all together for you here.
Altogether, it was hard work but also made for a interesting event with plenty of food for thought in between all the digital pencilling. Officially, we took part in Hello Digital's Fringe Events, our thanks go to the organisers who asked us to cover the day for them. They are, in no particular order; Birmingham City Council, Advantage West Midlands, The Arts Council, Business Link, Birmingham Post, Digital Birmingham, Screen West Midlands and Visit Birmingham.com.
